Products Description
Definition of Angle Needle Valve
An angle needle valve is a valve with a special structure. Its working principle is based on the design of globe valves, but it achieves flow control and sealing through a unique right-angle structure and a needle-shaped valve core.
Working Principle of Angle Needle Valve
The angle needle valve controls fluid on-off or adjusts flow rate through the lifting movement of the valve core (a needle-shaped cone). The valve core moves along the fluid centerline; when the handwheel is rotated, the valve stem drives the needle-shaped valve core to make sealed contact with or separate from the conical surface of the valve seat:
Closed state: Rotate the handwheel clockwise, the valve core is pressed down and fits tightly with the valve seat, forming a conical surface seal to completely block the fluid.
Open state: Rotate the handwheel counterclockwise, the valve core rises to form a tiny gap, and the fluid flows through the gap; the flow rate increases as the opening degree increases.
Structural Characteristics of Angle Needle Valve
Right-angle design: The inlet and outlet are at a 90° right angle, which is suitable for pipeline layouts with limited space or those requiring direction change, reducing the use of elbows.
Needle-shaped valve core: The taper is usually 5°~30°, and the slender design enables micron-level flow regulation, making it applicable to high-pressure, low-flow scenarios (e.g., 0.1mL/min).
Sealing type: Metal hard sealing (e.g., stainless steel) or soft sealing materials (PTFE, graphite) are used to ensure zero leakage under high pressure (up to 26.5MPa) and in corrosive media.
Usage Instructions for Angle Needle Valve
Lifting and rotating rod type: The handwheel and valve stem rotate and lift synchronously, with the nut fixed to the valve body, ensuring easy operation and low torque.
Dual sealing system: Some models are equipped with a packing seal (e.g., graphite) and an O-ring to prevent valve stem leakage and resist loosening due to vibration.
Pressure and temperature resistance: The valve body material can be 316 stainless steel, Hastelloy, etc., with a wide operating temperature range (-45°C to 450°C), suitable for harsh environments such as high-temperature steam and acid-base media.
Application Fields of Angle Needle Valve
High-pressure systems: Such as instrument pipelines (6000PSI) in the petrochemical industry and feedwater control of power boilers.
Precision control: Laboratory equipment (gas chromatographs) and semiconductor manufacturing (high-purity gas regulation).
Safety requirements: With fire and explosion-proof design, it is suitable for pipelines carrying hazardous media such as coal gas and natural gas.
